Former national cricketer and a vice-president of Bangla-desh Cricket Board (BCB) Tan-veer Haider, who was appointed as manager of the 16th Commonwealth Games bound team, has decided against going to Kuala Lumpur because of illness. He has sent a letter to BCB president yesterday in this regard.
Talking to The Daily Star, Tanveer, who underwent an open-heart surgery six months ago, said his doctor had advised him not to travel abroad.
Meanwhile, the BCB general secretary said he was aware of Tanveer's withdrawal and a new manager will be named on August 20 when the board's executive committee meets.
