KARACHI, Aug 11: The chairman of selectors Wasim Bari has said his committee has done its homework regarding the finalization of provisional list of players for next year's World Cup in England.

``We have around 25 or 26 players in mind and they would be released as soon as the PCB executive council appoints a captain and coach,'' Bari said on Tuesday.

He stated that the consent of captain and coach was required because they were the people who would be in-charge. ``We feel its mandatory to have their views and suggestions before announcing the list.''

Replying to another question, the chief selector said he has suggested to the cricket board to appoint captain and coach till the World Cup. ``There is no time for experimentation. If you cite the example of India or England, you must also consider the fact that they have no captaincy problem.''

On the selection of the Sahara Cup team, Bari said the meeting can take place anytime after the executive council moot. He said he was simply waiting for the appointments of captain and coach.

``We are ready to finalize and announce the 14-man team.''

Bari said he has not been called to attend the executive council meeting. He stated that the team for the Commonwealth Games has been submitted and approved by the council. ``In addition to this, I have not been invited for the meeting as yet.''
