The decision was taken at meeting held by the Jamaica Cricket Board of Control after reports from the Complaints and Competitions Committee on Tuesday, April 14.
Haynes is expected to miss two important matches against Tivoli this weekend and the following week against Melbourne at Kensington Park. His suspension resulted from the Kensington and St. Catherine Cricket Club match at Kensington Oval on March 7 and 8 where members of the home team were charged with delaying tactics and bring the game into disrepute with only 13 overs bowled in two hours and ten minutes.
As a result, the three first innings points which Kensington had gained from St. Catherine have been reduced to two points, while the match was awarded to St. Catherine who earned six points.
Also suspended are Wavel Hinds of Kensington for one match this weekend against Tivoli and also issued with a letter of reprimand, while Kirk Powell and Robert Turner of the same club were issued with reprimand letters.
The points standings after nine rounds now see Melbourne with 29 points, Kensington 25, St. Catherine Cricket Club 25, Lucas 22, Jamaica Defence Force 19, Kingston 18, Police 17, Portland 17, Boys' Town 8, Tivoli 7 and St. Thomas 3.
Meanwhile, in the Middlesex Cup competition, Fitzroy Beaumont of Clarendon was suspended for three matches, while Colin Buchanan of St. Catherine Cricket Association was issued a letter of reprimand. The Boys' Town versus St. Catherine Cricket Club match scheduled for this weekend at Kensington Park has been postponed.
