ZIMBABWE v SOUTH AFRICA
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1997

At Harare, October 21. South Africa won by 134 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe. International debut: N. Boje.

South Africa reshuffled their batting order, promoting McMillan to No. 3. He responded with a brutal century, his first in one-day internationals, as they amassed a total of 303. McMillan had missed out on a hundred by two runs in the Test, but made amends in no uncertain fashion as he weighed into the bowling. He hit 14 fours and three sixes in his 127 from 122 balls. Campbell made a watchful half-century, but Zimbabwe were never in the hunt after losing their first five wickets for 44. Though they lost only two more – Paul Strang becoming Richardson's 100th one-day international victim – South Africa achieved victory with ease.

Man of the Match: B. M. McMillan.
