PAKISTAN v SRI LANKA
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1996

At Verwoerdburg, December 4. Pakistan won by 12 runs. Toss: Sri Lanka.

An opening stand of 130 in 116 minutes between Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail provided the foundations of Pakistan's second victory over Sri Lanka in three days. Though both lost their wickets at that score, Inzamam-ul-Haq picked up the reins with 62 in 68 balls. A total of 245 was enough to withstand a ferocious onslaught by De Silva. He rushed to 95 in 105 balls, hitting Waqar Younis to all corners of the ground. Waqar went for seven an over, but Aqib Javed and Akram Raza suffocated the other batsmen and Sri Lanka's tempo was lost.

Man of the Match: Aamir Sohail.
