ZIMBABWE v PAKISTAN 1994-95 Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1996
At Harare, February 25. Pakistan won by four wickets. Toss: Pakistan. Pakistan were in dire trouble when Streak and Bryan Strang had four down for 23, but Inzamam-ul-Haq and Ijaz Ahmed regained the initiative with a stand of 152. Though Strang earned figures of three for 22 – and a caution from referee Hendriks for pointing Ijaz back to the pavilion – Inzamam steered Pakistan to victory with nine balls to spare, finishing on 116. Houghton dominated Zimbabwe's innings, striking a fluent 73 not out from 77 balls. He helped to put on 75 in the final ten overs after the tourists tied down the earlier batsmen. After the match, a handful of opposing supporters clashed with each other; the disturbance was promptly quelled by the police. Man of the Match: Inzamam-ul-Haq. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
