SRI LANKA v PAKISTAN 1994-95 Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1996
At R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, August 6. Sri Lanka won by seven wickets. Toss: Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka pulled level in the series after the left-handers Jayasuriya and Sanjeeva Ranatunga, the captain's younger brother, raised their country's first century opening stand against Pakistan in limited-overs cricket. Ranatunga struck a composed 70 in his second international. Earlier, Pakistan had to bat in overcast conditions with the ball moving around; Saeed Anwar was dismissed by the second ball of the match and, by the 13th over, Aamir Sohail and Inzamam-ul-Haq were also gone. Salim Malik and Basit Ali revived the innings with a stand of 74, but off-spinner Kalpage dismissed both and added two more wickets with his final two deliveries. Man of the Match: S. Ranatunga. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
