India v West Indies 1983-84 Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995
At Gauhati, December 17. West Indies won by six wickets. Both sides were below strength. West Indies rested Lloyd and Dujon, both suffering from minor injuries, and Roberts, while India were without Kapil Dev and Gavaskar. Considering that the pitch was damp in patches, India, who were put in, did well to accelerate. No doubt they would have made West Indies fight harder had Kapil Dev been available, the more so as the newcomers, Chetan Sharma and Kulkarni, bowled impressively. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
