SRI LANKA v WEST INDIES
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995

At Wankhede Stadium, Bombay, November 9. West Indies won by 46 runs. Toss: Sri Lanka.

With West Indies' captain, Richardson, and leading bowler Ambrose resting, Winston Benjamin made the most of his chance, taking five wickets. His first spell – three for four in six overs – reduced Sri Lanka to 21 for three. Though Tillekeratne scored 104, which was to be the only century of the tournament, no one could help him chase a target of 269. After a sound start from Lara, followed by a run-a-ball 55 from Adams, West Indies had plundered 50 runs from their last five overs, 41 of them through Cummins, who faced only 19 balls.

Men of the Match: W. K. M. Benjamin and H. P. Tillekeratne.
