SRI LANKA v INDIA 1993-94
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995

At Moratuwa, August 14. Sri Lanka won by four wickets. Toss: India.

Sri Lanka were more convincing winners than the last-over finish suggested. Mahanama maintained his form of the Third Test and made 92, helped by a runner, until cramp and the inflamed toe that kept him out of the previous game caused him such pain that he had to be carried off. Though there were some nervous moments as three wickets fell, Sri Lanka won the match and the series. Azharuddin had carried the Indian innings with his third half-century of the series; his 85 made him India's top limited-overs run-scorer, with 4,114 to Kris Srikkanth's 4,092. But he had little support and Sri Lanka's target was a modest 228 on an easy pitch.

Man of the Match: R. S. Mahanama.
