ZIMBABWE v PAKISTAN 1992-93
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1994

At Harare Sports Club, Harare, March 2. Pakistan won by seven wickets. Toss: Pakistan. International debut: G. A. Briant.

Pakistan beat Zimbabwe easily enough in a one-off game as they travelled back from South Africa after a triangular series involving West Indies. Their bowlers benefited from early dampness, extracting plenty of life from the pitch, while the home batsmen could reach the boundary only five times across a wet outfield. Three of those fours came from Houghton, who made 51 with support from Grant Flower. Flower's brother Andy was struck on the finger while batting and Gavin Briant, on his international debut, stood in as wicket-keeper. Zimbabwe's hopes rose when they took two early wickets, but a 115-run partnership between Shoaib Mohammad and Javed Miandad soon killed them off.

Man of the Match: Javed Miandad.
