ZIMBABWE v NEW ZEALAND 1992-93 Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1994
At Bulawayo, October 31. New Zealand won by 22 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe. International debuts: M. H. Dekker, S. G. Peall; S. B. Doull, D. J. Nash. New Zealand eventually cantered home in a dreary encounter at the Bulawayo Athletic Club. Asked to bat on a slow, turning pitch, they made heavy going of it. Jones's 68 was his 25th fifty in 64 limited-overs internationals. He was supported by Latham and Crowe, who made 40 in his first match of the tour. A target of 245 from 50 overs was not over-demanding, though Zimbabwe slipped to 34 for three before spluttering into life. Dekker scored 79 on his international debut and it was only after his dismissal that the New Zealanders– who were struggling in the field because of the altitude – could be sure of victory. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
