SOUTH AFRICA v INDIA 1992-93
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1994

At Cape Town, December 7 (day/night). South Africa won by six wickets. Toss: India. International debuts: D. L. Callaghan, P. S. De Villiers.

A virtuoso performance by Cronje ensured that South Africa won their first home limited-overs international. His medium pace brought him five for 32 as India failed to build on a good start provided by Jadeja and Raman. Cronje later completed the victory, with three balls to spare, by hitting a six over mid-wicket. South Africa had been pegged back by steady bowling and reached the last two overs still needing 16. Earlier they owed much to Wessels and Kirsten, who both survived chances, though Wessels missed his fifty when he became the first batsman in a one-day international to be ruled out by the video replay.

Man of the Match: W. J. Cronje.
