AUSTRALIA v INDIA Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1993
At Adelaide, December 15. Australia won by six wickets. Toss: India. On the same blissful pitch on which they had thrived the previous day, India collapsed to 69 for six; all-rounders Kapil Dev and Prabhakar could not revive their hopes. The misery was inflicted by keen bowling and high-class fielding, at its best in the run-out of Manjrekar: Moody skidded to stop the ball inches inside the long third man boundary, and returned it to Healy who, still wearing his glove, relayed it accurately to the bowler's end before Manjrekar completed a third run. Australia, too, lost early wickets, but a partnership of 137 from Jones and Border took them to within four runs of their target. Border lost his wicket trying for a match-winning six. Man of the Match: A. R. Border. Attendance: 18,335. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
