WEST INDIES v SOUTH AFRICA 1991-92
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1993

Toss: West Indies. Seldom can any one-day international have been won so comprehensively. South Africa's top six all contributed to their own downfall. Wessels and Kirsten chased wide deliveries before Hudson was beaten by Simmons's direct hit from backward point. Cronje took a suicidal single to Richardson at mid-wicket, and later Rhodes, who played the only innings of note, unwisely took on Arthurton at cover. The West Indian openers, Lara and Haynes, destroyed some indifferent bowling with wonderful strokeplay, needing only 25.5 overs to reach their modest target on a splendid pitch. Lara played some sublime shots, hitting 13 fours as well as two sixes off Henry.

Man of the Match: B. C. Lara.
