The West Indies began the fourth day at 91-1. But after an encouraging start to their second innings on the third evening, the visitors' challenge fell apart on the fourth morning. After Chris Gayle (42) fell to Harbhajan Singh, it was the turn of the other overnight not out batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan (17) to follow him back to the pavilion. Sarwan's dismissal was to prove the precursor of a massive collapse.
