Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag were close contenders for the Man of the Match but in the end the judges decided to award it to Sehwag who had laid the foundation for the win with his blazing 147 on the first day. It was a decision that was greeted with warm applause all around and with a quiet smile by Sehwag.
