Once play resumed after lunch, it was the turn of the Indian bowlers to feel the heat. Though Javagal Srinath had some success in stifling the batsmen, the runs flowed freely at the other end. Leading the visitors’ charge was the imposing Chris Gayle. The West Indies opener clouted eight fours and three sixes on his way to his second ODI hundred, putting his team on course for their second win in the seven-match series.
