VVS Laxman played some exquisite strokes and went on to make 154 not out by close of play. The stylish Hyderabad batsman was at the crease for almost nine hours. This is also his second hundred in successive Tests at Eden Gardens, following the epic 281 against Australia. Not only did he give Tendulkar admirable support during the fifth wicket partnership but also held the lower order together - to take India safely to a draw.
