(Harare 6th ODI - 4 Jul 2001)
Sachin Tendulkar has nothing to prove anymore. He is the numero uno
batsman in the world. Today he played yet another masterly innings,
holding the Indian innings together with an unbeaten 122 off 131
balls. He was a picture of confidence and aggression all through his
knock. The hook shot that he played of Dillon, over long leg for a six
was easily the stroke of the day. He smashed a dozen fours and a six
in his 29th ODI hundred to take the 41st Man of the Match in his ODI
career. Though India lost three more wickets after that of Ganguly's,
Tendulkar stayed till the end to ensure India's victory. The scene is
set for Saturday's final and India goes into the match with all the
advantage it can hold.
