(Bulawayo 4th ODI - 30 Jun 2001)
West Indies lost their skipper Carl Hooper (14) after having struggled for
46 balls, caught by Ganguly off the bowling of Zaheer Khan. They were in
serious danger of being bundled out for a score of below 100 at that stage,
47/5 in 24.2 overs. Marlon Samuels and Ridley Jacobs put together a
partnership of 72 runs in 15 overs to give the Windies total some sort of
respectability. Samuels was the more aggressive of the two batsmen,
smacking five boundaries in his innings of 44 off 74 balls. Samuels' good
knock came to an end when he fell to the men who were making their
comeback, caught by Harvinder Singh off the bowling of Debashish Mohanty.
