Zimbabwe got off to a poor start and lost wickets at regular intervals.
They failed to take advantage of winning the toss as the Indian attack,
spearheaded by the young left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra (3/23) destroyed the
Zimbabwe batting. He accounted for the wickets of Guy Whittall and the
dangerous Andy Flower who made a quickfire 51. Zimbabwe were bowled out in
their first innings for just 173.
