Alec Stewart, man of the match at the NatWest Series final at Lord's and man of the series for his 408 runs and flawless wicketkeeping, says he had no sleep on the night before the match - he was watching rugby on television at 3.30am! Brian Lara missed the match between West Indies and England at Trent Bridge with a hamstring injury but he watched every ball and after the game he told Kate Laven how the victory has boosted spirits in the West Indies camp following a disappointing NatWest Series. Ahead of the next Cornhill Test at Old Trafford, he says his side needed the win today but apart from one bad day at Lord's, their Test form has so far been strong (3:29)

secured their place in the tournament final at Lord's next Saturday (1:43)
