The Gentlemen of Leicestershire

The first recorded match was in 1820 against Barrow-on-Soar and later in the same year another match against Leicester New Club.

Excepting the inevitable breaks for the two Wars, matches were played regularly against most of the Public Schools. The Club has been touring to the Islands of Jersey and Guernsey from at least 1929. The Club has also enjoyed a Whit Tour to North Norfolk, playing West Norfolk CC at Hunstanton since 1950. Needless to say, in time-honoured fashion, the Festivals and all Tours have been thoroughly enjoyed by all taking part. Let us hope that this continues in the years to come.
