Invalids Soon after the end of the Great War, a team of authors calling themselves the Old Age Pensioners played a game at West Wycombe (or West Grinstead - some confusion here). The name was later changed to "The Invalids", team colours would be hospital blue and old gold (the colour of army officers' hospital pyjamas) and the crest would be a pair of crossed crutches. The war connection, with veterans returning, wounded, invalided or otherwise, was thus complete. The Invalids today thrive with 39 fixtures in 2000 but the club will always maintain its roots, which are in games against English village sides.
