The Gloucestershire Gipsies

The 1st General Meeting took place at The Bell Hotel, Gloucester on 16th January 1922. It was agreed that the club colours should be old gold and maroon, the very same colours as used in the Arms of the County. Early fixtures were arranged against such schools as Cheltenham, Clifton, and Radley. Gradually over the years the fixture list has increased so that there are now over 40 games per year. Over the past ten years overseas tours have taken place to such locations as South Africa (three times), Zimbabwe, Germany and Southern Ireland and in 2000 the Gipsies will be competing in the Chiang Mai 6's for the first time.
