De Flamingos

When in 1921 the "Gentlemen of Holland were touring England for the second time after the Great War, it was in London that the initiative was taken to start a wandering club. The founder, Tonny Kessler, wished the club to be mentioned after a migratory bird. There was a quick reaction by one of the tourists, who shouted 'flamingo's'. It was only much later after this that it was discovered that flamingo's do not belong to the species of migratory birds. Being a Touring Club we are always ready to "fly" out at any given time in the year to any given destination. The Flamingo's flag has been hoisted in many places including Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany and Switzerland.
