All India Sankar Cement Pooja Cricket Tournament

How To Enter The Tournament

It is open to all the clubs and players affiliated to the Kerala Cricket Association or to any other state association
Those Clubs which are not affiliated to their respective state associations shall pay the temporary affiliation fee
stipulated by their state associations over and above the entrance fee fixed below.

The entrance fee for each team shall be Rs. 1000/-

The Tournament will start on the 3rd September 2000

Tournament Details

The Tournament will be conducted in two phases - Phase I and Phase II

Two teams from phase I will qualify for phase II

All matches in Phase I will be played on KNOCK-OUT basis

All matches of the tournament will be played at the PALACE OVAL, TRIPUNITHURA
unless otherwise specified by the committee

The Tournament Committee will provide cricket balls for all matches.

All matches of the tournament will be played on turf wicket unless otherwise specified by the committee.

All matches shall be played on 45 overs a side basis.

No bowler shall be permitted to bowl more than 1/5th of the overs stipulated for each innings

In case of a Tie or Bad Weather

If the contesting teams score the same number of runs, the team, which loses the lesser number of wickets
shall be declared the winner. If both the teams lose the same number of wickets, the winner shall be a decided
by the spin of a coin.

If a match in stopped due to bad weather or any other reason, and the team batting second has already played
a minimum of 15 overs, the team, which has better run rate, shall be declared the winner.

If a match is stopped due to bad weather or bad light, and in case the team batting second has not completed
15 overs the winner shall be decided by the spin of a coin

In the event of non-commencement of a match due to bad weather or any other reasons the winner may be decided
by spin of the coin. Howerver the Tournament Committee reserves the right to reschedule the match if possible

Calculation of Run Rate

The runs rate shall be calculated by dividing the total number of runs scored by the number of stipulated overs

In the event of a team batting first being all out in less than their full quota of overs, the calculation of their
run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which they would have been entitled and not the number overs
of in which they were dismissed. In the case of a team batting second, the actual number of completed
overs played will be taken for calculation purposes, if they have not lost all their wickets

Other Details

The over will not be reduced in the case of temporary stoppage of the match due to bad weather, when the innings
of the team batting second is in progress. A maximum of one hour can be extended to the closing time to faciliate
maximum number of overs

The Tournament Committee has the power, the shift the wicket from turf to matting
if it becomes necessary before the match

The Tournament Committee has the power to postpone any match for reasons it deems proper. Any match thus
postponed will have to be played at a notice of 12 hours (Twelve Hours) at any ground specified by the Committee

In case of delayed start or any interruption during the first innings of a match, the committee can order
the number of overs to reduced. An over shall be reduced for every four minutes lost from the stipulated number
of overs of an innings

However, if there is a delayed start upto half an hour date to inclement weather, umpires/tournament committee
will decided on wheather the overs should be reduced or not. The possibility of curtailing the duration of lunch
interval will also be considered

The umpire can order the ball to be changed, if the qualify of the ball is found inadequate

The Pitch

The pitch will be protected from rain as far as possible

The umpires for each match shall be posted by the committee. They will be the sole judges regarding the fitness
of the pitch ground conditions, weather and the implements of the game

During the course of a match, mopping and repairing of the pitch if required will be decided by the umpires
In consultation with the committee

In Case of Disputes

All disputes will be decided by the committee

Protests, if any, should be lodged in writing within one hour after the completion of the match by the Captain
of a team or his deputy, along with a protest fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundered Only)

Reporting and Hours of Play

The team should report at the ground, atleast 30 minutes before the start of the match

Captain of the teams, should give in writing the names of the playing XI before the toss. The 12th man also should
be named

Hours of play 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 1.10 pm to 4.10 pm

There shall be a 40 minutes lunch breack, and four drinks in a match, There will not be any tea break

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make any alterations in the above mentioned rules and
regulations if the situations demand for the smooth conduct of the Tournament
