The wives of a number of Sri Lankan cricketers are in England these days to see for themselves the achievements of their husbands.

All of them were there to see the two one-day matches played at Lakenham and Northamptonshire.

Some of them came here at the commencement of the tour while others joined later.

The son and daughter of captain Arjuna Ranatunga and the little twins of Hashan Tillekeratne came to the matches with their mothers. Arjuna's son is frequently seen playing with other children in-front of the pavilion during match intervals.

Although the wives of many of the players have come they lodge and dine separately, because the English Test and County Cricket Board is providing such facilities only for the players.

The wives of Arjuna Ranatunga, Tillekeratne, Kaluwitharana, Dharmasena and Atapattu had come to see the one-day match at Northamptonshire. The wife of Sanath Jayasuriya is yet to arrive.

Sri Lanka's Board of Control for Cricket Vice President Anuruddha Polonowita and his wife came here on the 4th instant. Further eleven or twelve members of the Cricket Board are due to come here during the next few days.
