``Tie-breaker'' in mini World Cup!

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is likely to adopt a make-shift arrangement for the forthcoming Wills International Cup to cope against any inclement Dhaka weather.

The knock-out over-limit tourney, involving the nine Test-playing nations, will be held at the Dhaka Stadium from October 24 to November 2.

According to an informed source, in case of bad weather or poor ground conditions, the ICC will relax the One-day rules of a minimum 25-over-a-side match to a 10-over-a-side affair for the extraordinary event, to be played almost without any reserve day.

Even if that condensed version is not possible the game's ruling body will go for 'bowl-out', a la tie-breaker in football, to decide a winner.

According to the decisions taken by the ICC at its annual meeting last month, if there is no match on a particular day for rain or any other reason, five bowlers from each side will compete in the 'bowl-out'. Each bowler will bowl once and the side hitting the stumps more will be declared the winners.

However, details of 'bowl-out' will be confirmed by ICC at the end of the month.
