IT WAS merciless clawing of the 'Eagles' by the 'Lions' with allrounder Kaushalya Weeraratne playing a major role to guide Trinity College to an easy six-wicket win over St. Anthony's College in their 19th limited over cricket clash at the Asgiriya Stadium before a large crowd yesterday.

The Antonians 'Eagles' had no answer to the savage hitting of Kaushalya Weeraratne who thumped six sixes in his explosive knock of 73 not out and in only 63 balls and he also hit a boundary. He captured 3 for 22 off 10 overs and if there was a man-of-the-match award it would have been his.

Antonians who batted first started on a slow note finally made 228 for 9 in 50 overs.

Trinity hit off these runs in 41 overs with the last over producing 20 runs.

With this win Trinity go 7 up in the series against 11 by St. Anthony's and one match ended in no decision.
