India v Sri Lanka at Johannesburg, 10 Mar 2003

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 0800 GMT (10:00 local)

Good day and welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the India-Sri
Lanka Super Six tie from Johannesburg.
To say the least, this is one of the most anticipated matches of
the Super Six, featuring two teams that have faced off with equal
honours in the past few years.
India may have started this World Cup looking a little rusty, but
they have improved in leaps and bounds since, and are now being
touted as the side most likely to challenge Australia for the
        title.
Sri Lanka faced a reverse situation, starting well in the league
stages and then going down to Kenya and, most recently, Australia
        in the Super Six.
Much of the lead-up to this game was focussed on the recuperation
of skipper Sanath Jayasuriya, and Sri Lankan fans will be glad to
note that he has returned to the side for this game.
His thumb, he said at the pre-match chat to the cameras, is still
painful, but he will most definitely be striding out with the bat
at the top of the order.
That will, however, be a few hours from now, as Jayasuriya opted to
bowl first after winning the toss.
       Tea,s:
India: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag,
Mohammad Kaif, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer
Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Dinesh Mongia
Sri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Marvan Atapattu, Jehan
Mubarak, Aravinda de Silva, Mahela Jayawardene, Russel Arnold,
Kumara Sangakkara, Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dilhara
        Fernando, Prabhath Nissanka
Sri Lanka play Jehan Mubarak and Prabath Nissanka instead of Hashan
Tillekeratne and Pulasthi Gunaratne, while India play an unchanged
        side.
0.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, one run, just short of a length, bang on target
as far as line goes, and Tendulkar dabs it down on the onside off
the back foot and sets off, Fernando almost effecting a run out
off the very first ball but misses the stumps
0.2 Vaas to Sehwag, one run, back of a length again, and Sehwag
shuffles onto his back foot and glides the ball to third man and
gets off the mark with that single
0.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, just outside the off stump, and moving
in appreciably off the wicket, Tendulkar shouldering arms and
watching the ball just whistle past off stump
0.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, two runs, straying on middle and leg, and
Tendulkar is quick to whip it away off his pads and behind square
on the legside, de Silva running around from fine leg to field as
        India get two more
0.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, two runs, outside the off, half volley length,
and Tendulkar unleashes the flowing cover drive that goes to
Jayasuriya at mid off, who misses and allows the two off the
        misfield
0.6 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, outside the off stump, just back of a
length, moving in a shade off the seam but not enough to tempt
Tendulkar to play at that one

WPUJC Vaas 1-0-6-0 - Corlett Drive End
V Sehwag 1* (1b) SR Tendulkar 5* (5b)

Prabath Nissanka to accompany Vaas with the new ball
1.1 Nissanka to Sehwag, FOUR, full and outside the off, an outright
loosener that Sehwag absolutely crucifies, fluent as if he were on
100 instead of 1, getting the front foot to the pitch and easing
        it to the cover fence
1.2 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, nice reply from Nissanka, shorter and
more bounce outside the off stump, and Sehwag leaves the ball
alone, keeping his eye on it until it passes the bat
1.3 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, movement this time for Nissanka as
well, starting on off stump and moving away off the pitch
significantly, and Sehwag spots the length and movement early and
        shoulders arms
1.4 Nissanka to Sehwag, SIX, holy moley! short and outside the off, and
Sehwag uppishly cuts the ball away hard and into the stands over
point for six, very similar to Sachin's stroke off Shoaib against
        Pakistan! Super stroke!
1.5 Nissanka to Sehwag, wide: no run, Nissanka tries to overcompensate
for his offstump width and drifts down the legside, Sri Lanka give
        away their first extra
1.5 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, better line and length from Nissanka,
just outside the off stump and moving away off the seam, Sehwag is
content to watch it go past
1.6 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, left again outside the off, nice carry
there from Nissanka, rearing from a relatively full length and
Sangakkara collecting almost at chest level

End of over 2 (11 runs) India 17/0 (RR: 8.50)
RAP Nissanka 1-0-11-0 (1w) - Corlett Drive End
SR Tendulkar 5* (5b) V Sehwag 11* (7b 1x4 1x6)

2.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, that is the line for Tendulkar, Vaas
getting the ball just short of a length and on the off stump, and
Tendulkar goes onto the back foot and defending back down the
        track
2.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, short of a length again, and Tendulkar
strokes the ball to the extra cover fielder this time off the back
foot, three in the offside infield cordon to Tendulkar
2.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, on middle and off, and Tendulkar gets
nicely behind the line of the ball, just working it off the square
into the legside, near the short midwicket fielder
2.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, fuller length, and Tendulkar stays back
to that one and awkwardly pats the ball back down the track, Vaas
fielding well on his follow through, twisting to his left to
        collect the ball
2.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, on the off stump, just moving a shade
into the batsman after puitching, and Tendulkar leaves that one to
        thud into Sangakkara's gloves
2.6 Vaas to Tendulkar, one run, on Tendulkar's pads, and the batsman
neatly tucks the ball behind square on the legside and gets the
single off the final ball of the over, de Silva cleaning up at
        fine leg

End of over 3 (1 run) India 18/0 (RR: 6.00)
WPUJC Vaas 2-0-7-0 - Golf Course End
SR Tendulkar 6* (11b) V Sehwag 11* (7b 1x4 1x6)

3.1 Nissanka to Tendulkar, one run, short of a length, and Tendulkar
pats this one just wide of mid-on and takes the single, taking off
early for the run and getting there comfortably in the end
3.2 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, short of a length, rising from a
relatively fullish length, and Sehwag hops in the air and plays
the ball down on his toes just into the offside
3.3 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, better over this from Nissanka,
sticking to the line outside off stump and getting the extra
bounce that beats the edge of Sehwag's bat as he probes for that
        delivery
3.4 Nissanka to Sehwag, two runs, wristily worked into the gap between
midwicket and mid on, and Sehwag gets two for that stroke as mid
        on runs around to field
3.5 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, rising off a good length, outside the
off, and Sehwag deals with the movement into him well, keeping his
eye on the ball and playing it down into the offside with soft
        hands
3.6 Nissanka to Sehwag, wide: no run, outside the off, and Sehwag goes
for that ball with a full-blooded cut, but it is too wide to be
        reached
3.6 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, played into the offside, just wide of
the point fieldsman, who collects to cut off the single, four runs
from that Nissanka over, a better one than his first, which went
        for 11

RAP Nissanka 2-0-15-0 (2w) - Corlett Drive End
SR Tendulkar 7* (12b) V Sehwag 13* (12b 1x4 1x6)

4.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, FOUR, whatta shot! that ball was not a terrible
one at all, just on off stump and short of a length, and Tendulkar
gets onto the back foot and plays the ball on the rise with the
full face of the bat through the covers to the ropes for four
4.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, one run, straight-driven past the bowler and
non-striker, and Tendulkar takes Jayasuriya on, the fielder
running around from mid-on and has a shy at the stumps,
unnecessary risk that at this stage of the game
4.3 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, outside the off, keeping just a touch low
and moving in off the seam, and Sehwag looks to flash at the width
and adjusts well as it moves back into him, patting it back to
        Vaas
4.4 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, angled across Sehwag, who plays a loose
stroke at that one, going for a wafty cover drive and missing
completely, the ball beating the edge
4.5 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, better defence this time, bat and pad close
together as Sehwag gets forward and drives the ball into the
        covers
4.6 Vaas to Sehwag, (noball) no run, Vaas oversteps as Sehwag turns the
ball into the legside, straight to the short mdiwicket fielder
4.6 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, good, good stuff from Vaas, that one
pitching just outside off and moving in sharply to beat Sehwag's
flashing blade, beating the ineside edge of the bat before passing
        over the stumps

End of over 5 (6 runs) India 28/0 (RR: 5.60)
WPUJC Vaas 3-0-13-0 (1nb) - Golf Course End
SR Tendulkar 12* (14b 1x4) V Sehwag 13* (17b 1x4 1x6)

5.1 Nissanka to Tendulkar, no run, outside the off, moving away from
the batsman, and Tendulkar thinks about having a go at it before
lifting his bat away from the line of the ball, good carry again
        from Nissanka
5.2 Nissanka to Tendulkar, no run, outside the off again, not close
enough to the batsman to tempt him into the stroke, and Tendulkar
leaves it to go through to the keeper untouched
5.3 Nissanka to Tendulkar, no run, sharp nip off the seam and into the
batsman from Nissanka, and Tendulkar tries to defend with the bat
away from the body, the ball beating the inside edge by some
        margin
5.4 Nissanka to Tendulkar, wide: no run, wide called, Nissanka pitching
outside the off and getting further movement away from Tendulkar,
Sangakkara having to dive to his right to collect
5.4 Nissanka to Tendulkar, FOUR, nicely timed shot, the ball full and
on his pads, and Tendulkar just clips it off his toes with a flick
of the wrists, sending the ball screaming to the fence just behind
square on the legside for four
5.5 Nissanka to Tendulkar, wide: no run, erratic bowling from Nissanka,
but also an unnecessary stroke from Tendulkar, having a flirt with
the ball rising far outside off stump and missing it completely
5.5 Nissanka to Tendulkar, FOUR, hohoho! full and on the off and
middle, and Tendulkar merely pushes at it defensively, bat as
straight as possible, and the ball rockets off the face and past
Nissanka and speeds to the fence behind the bowler
5.6 Nissanka to Tendulkar, one run, on the pads, and Tendulkar works
the ball wristily behind square on the legside, to fine leg, for a
        single, retaining strike

SR Tendulkar 21* (20b 3x4) V Sehwag 13* (17b 1x4 1x6)

6.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, short of a length, Tendulkar goes back
to that one and pushes the ball into the offside, to the mid off
        fielder
6.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, FOUR, another beaut from Tendulkar, the ball
full and on the pads, so bad bowling from Vaas admittedly, but it
has to be put away, and Tendulkar flicks it away through the empty
midwicket area, virtually choosing his spot for four more
6.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, on-driven with great timing, but this
one just goes past Vaas and to the left of the mid on fielder, who
        runs around to field
6.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, angled across Tendulkar, and this one
goes on with the arm, beating the probing bat with both the line
        and the slightly slower pace
6.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, two runs, angled across Tendukar again, but this
time the batsman moves forward well and firmly pushes the ball
into the gap between point and cover into the outfield for a brace
6.6 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, full and on the off, and Tendulkar steps
forward and drives firmly to the mid off fielder, Jayasuriya. Six
        runs from that Vaas over

Sachin Tendulkar completing 500 runs with that last couple of runs
        that he got
7.1 Nissanka to Sehwag, legbye: FOUR, sliding down the legside, and
Sehwag tries to get a fine touch on it with the bat, but the ball
merely strikes pad before running away to the fine leg fence for
        four leg byes
7.2 Nissanka to Sehwag, two runs, on the legs, and Sehwag lets that one
come to him before turning it away at the last moment behind
square on the legside for a brace, Nissanka's line still not too
        good here
7.3 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, better line this time, on the middle
and off, just short of a length, and Sehwag gets behind the ball
and pushes it back to the bowler
7.4 Nissanka to Sehwag, wide: no run, another wide from Nissanka, the
bowler trying to stay away from the pads to these two and straying
too much on the other side in the process
7.4 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, that's the stuff, Sehwag leaving the
ball alone as Nissanka digs it in just short of a length and
        outside the off
7.5 Nissanka to Sehwag, FOUR, nicely played, the ball drifting down the
legside again, and Sehwag uses the pace and bounce well enough,
flicking it away through the square leg region for four more
7.6 Nissanka to Sehwag, no run, fuller and outside the off, and Sehwag
is tempted into the flashy cover drive through the offside and
misses completely, the ball beating the outside edge of the bat by
        inches

8.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, two runs, on the pads, and Tendulkar flicks it
away wristily behind square on the legside, de Silva having to run
around and field in the deep as Tendulkar gets two more
8.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, one run, worked into the gap again, this time
more in front of the wicket, and short midwicket runs after it to
collect as the batsmen run one
8.3 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, well bowled, just on and outside the off
stump, and short of a length, and Sehwag has to defend the ball
watchfully back down the wicket to Vaas
8.4 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, hit hard back at Vaas as Sehwag attempts
the straight drive, but Vaas responds well with his reflexes,
sticking a hand out and blocking the drive - and the certain four
8.5 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, full and outside the off, just a shade
slower and cutting away off the seam from Sehwag, and the batsman
is content to shoulder arms to that one, letting it go past into
        Sangakkara's gloves
8.6 Vaas to Sehwag, no run, defended into the covers on the front foot,
and the batsman thinks of a single as point has to run to the
right to field, but no run is taken, three from that Vaas over

Dilhara Fernando into the attack now, repalcing the erratic
Nissanka from the Corlett Drive End
9.1 Fernando to Tendulkar, no run, just outside the off stump, moving
away a touch off the seam, and Tendulkar shoulders arms, nice
        movement there for Fernando
9.2 Fernando to Tendulkar, two runs, short of a length, outside the
off, not a bad ball at all, but well played by Tendulkar glided to
third man and the batsmen run hard to come back for the second
9.3 Fernando to Tendulkar, wide: no run, a bouncer from Dilhara which
Tendulkar ducks under easily enough, and wide called by umpire
        Shepherd
9.3 Fernando to Tendulkar, no run, full and outside the off, better
length this time, and the batsman just strokes the ball into the
        covers
9.4 Fernando to Tendulkar, (noball) SIX, short and wide, and Tendulkar
may have heard the no ball call, but regardless, he cuts the ball
with a full flourish of the bat, getting six just behind square on
        the offside
9.4 Fernando to Tendulkar, no run, and Tendulkar tries the stroke
again, shuffling perceptibly to off and trying to cut, but this
one moves away off the seam to defeat the stroke, beating the edge
9.5 Fernando to Tendulkar, one run, on middle and leg, and Tendulkar
leaps onto his toes and works the ball with that little hop into
the legside, just in front of square to the sweeper for a single
9.6 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, watchfully played, short of a length
and Sehwag shuffling onto his back foot and presenting the full
face of the bat in defence

10.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, played into the offside, just wide of
short extra cover, and Sehwag runs down the pitch excitedly to get
the single but is sent back - in time, as the fielder does well to
collect and try the direct hit at the non-striker's end
10.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, short and wide, almost begging to be
hit, but Tendulkar does not quite get hold of that one, trying to
thump it past point and sending it to cover instead
10.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, two runs, held back a little by Vaas, and
Tendulkar tries the forcing stroke and gets it uppishly just short
of backward point, getting two to the deep point region. Not much
going right for Sri Lanka right now
10.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, angled across the batsman, and Tendulkar
strides forward and watches the ball shoot past his front pad with
        equanimity
10.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, another leave from Tendulkar,
shouldering arms as the ball goes on with the arm across the
        batsman
10.6 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, tight back foot defence, the ball just
short of a length and Tendulkar going back and holding the bat

11.1 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, slower ball, outside the off, and some
movement in the air for Fernando, Sehwag defending on the front
foot and prodding the ball into the offside cordon
11.2 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, outside the off, back of a length, and
Sehwag wafts aimlessly at that one, the feet not moving at all and
the ball beating the outside edge of th ebat
11.3 Fernando to Sehwag, FOUR, beautiful shot, the ball pitched up and
just straying on middle and off, and Sehwag pounces with a
Tendulkar-esque on-drive, sending the ball racing past mid-on to
the long on fence for four
11.4 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, rock solid forward defence after that
exquisite on drive, the ball timed so well even in defence that it
fairly races to the right of point, who fields well
11.5 Fernando to Sehwag, FOUR, short and wide, sitting up to be hit
outside the off, and Sehwag does not miss out on those, thumping
that one between point and cover with a full flourish of the bat,
getting four more to the cover fence
11.6 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, short and wide again, and Sehwag
chooses to leave this one alone, shuffling towards the line of the

12.1 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, Vaas into his seventh over now, and this
one is the slower ball, just outside the off, and Tendulkar pushes
        forward defensively into the covers
12.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, outside the off, and Tendulkar leaves
that one to go through, the ball dying on Sangakkara as it reaches
the Sri Lankan wicket keeper almost on second bounce
12.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, Tendulkar leaves the ball again,
watching it angle across his body and go past his front pad, bat
held well away from the line of the ball
12.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, good consistent line from Vaas this,
again outside the off stump but not wide enough for Tendulkar to
free his arms and try any forcing strokes through the offside
12.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, a slower ball from Vaas, cutting away

and playing that one back down the pitch towards the bowler
13.2 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, fuller and on the off, and Sehwag gets
forward in forward defence, bat and pad close together, the ball
        pushed into the offside
13.3 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, outside the off stump, nipping in with
the seam off the wicket, and Sehwag leaves that ball alone,
judging where his off stump is quite nicely
13.4 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, played into the offside, just wide of
the backward point fieldsman, who prevents the single from being
taken, good couple of overs for Sri Lanka here
13.5 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, outside the off, and Sehwag gets
forward and hangs his bat at that one, the ball beating the
outside edge and carrying nicely through to Sangakkara
13.6 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, Sri Lanka's second maiden of the

sticking to getting the ball just outside the off, and Tendulkar
        is content with the leave
14.2 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, on the middle and leg stump, and
Tendulkar gets bat on ball this time, turning the ball away
quietly enough into the legside to the short midwicket fielder
14.3 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, back outside the off, and another off
cutter from Vaas, and again Tendulkar leaves this one alone,
pretty much the pattern for the last couple of overs
14.4 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, and again, a replay of the previous
delivery pretty much, outside the off and left alone, Vaas
        continuing with his off-cutters
14.5 Vaas to Tendulkar, no run, a touch wider than his previous
deliveries, and Tendulkar may have thought about having a dart at
this one but he leaves it alone in the end

Fernando complementing Vaas nicely here, and Sri Lanka clawing
their way back atleast as far as the run rate goes
15.2 Fernando to Sehwag, one run, worked off the back foot just wide of
the mid on fielder, and India get a run off the bat after quite a
        while
15.3 Fernando to Tendulkar, one run, on middle and leg, and Tendulkar
walks across his stumps and turns the ball neatly enough behind
square on the legside and gets a single
15.4 Fernando to Sehwag, FOUR, full and wide outside the off, and Sehwag
places the ball nicely, wide of the point fielder but not close
enough to third man, getting four to the deep point region
15.5 Fernando to Sehwag, no run, uppishly played this time by Sehwag as
Fernando pitches short and wide, but Mubarak at backward point
does well this time to field and cut down the runs

16.2 Muralitharan to Sehwag, one run, Sehwag does the same as Tendulkar,
playing the ball more in front of the wicket and getting a single

16.3 Muralitharan to Tendulkar, no run, trying to work it to leg,
Tendulkar is beaten by the away-going delivery, the ball hitting

17.3 Fernando to Tendulkar, FOUR, clipped off the toes by Tendulkar as
Fernando drifts onto the pads, and the sweeper on the legside
fence fields shabbily, so Tendulkar gets to his fifty, yet another
good knock from him in this World Cup

20.3 Nissanka to Tendulkar, no run, pushed firmly again, the ball
rocketing off the blade to the mid on fieldsman, despite the fact

Match State: Innings Break

So Sri Lanka chase 293 for a win in this Super Six tie against
India, a total that, while daunting, looked like being a lot more
when Tendulkar, Sehwag and Ganguly were going well
Sri Lanka did well to pull things back with some tight bowling,
thanks mainly to Vaas and Muralitharan, who shared five of the six
        wickets to fall
Sri Lanka have a formidable batting outfit, and on a good track,
they have a good shot at the target, but it is always difficult
chasing such a high total, so India must award themselves the
        upper hand at the moment
Join us after the break to rejoin the match with the Sri Lankan
        chase
Play is about to get under way here
The Indians are out on the field in a huddle, pepping themselves up
ahead of their defence of 292
Remember te Sri Lankans need to get 293 in 50 overs to win
A lot depends on the skipper Sanath Jayasuriya and Marvan Atapattu
The two are in good form, also captain and vice-captain remember,
        and open the innings
Aravinda de Silva too has been in good nick and is looking more and
more dangerous as the tournament has progressed
For India the pacemen will have to provide the early breakthroughs,
paving the way for a steady middle session
The Sri Lankan middle order has not been in the greatest of form so
        far
Jayawardene, Arnold and Sangakkara have not really got going and
Jehan Mubarak is a touch inexperienced
The openers are now walking out onto the field
It is Atapattu to take first strike, Zaheer Khan is the bowler
0.1 Khan to Atapattu, no run, on the stumps, good length, defended
        carefully, rapped on the pad
0.2 Khan to Atapattu, no run, fuller, a bit quicker and just outside
the off stump, left well alone as the ball sails through to the
        keeper
0.3 Khan to Atapattu, no run, beautiful delivery, outside the off and
angled across the right hander, who probes forward and is beaten
        comprehensively
0.4 Khan to Atapattu, no run, and again, the angle taking the ball away
from Atapattu and beating the forward defensive stroke, the ball
just passing the outside edge of the bat
0.5 Khan to Atapattu, no run, this one is intentionally left, the ball
pushed wide of the right hander and Atapattu is content to
shoulder arms and watch it past into Dravid's gloves
0.6 Khan to Atapattu, wide: no run, and Sri Lanka's first runs courtesy
Zaheer Khan straying down the legside
0.6 Khan to Atapattu, no run, and another dot ball ends a good start by

22.3 Nehra to Muralitharan, FOUR, this is bizarre stuff! short ball on
leg stump, and Murali pulls the ball away nicely enough, sending

22.4 Nehra to Muralitharan, no run, tonked awkwardly into the legside,

22.5 Nehra to Muralitharan, FOUR, full and on the stumps, and Murali
swings away and gets a thin outside edge that runs away to fine
leg, to the ropes for four. Nehra continues to smile, but he can't
be too happy about this inside
22.6 Nehra to Muralitharan, OUT: and Murali swings wildly once too
often, trying to chance his arm on the short ball with the pull,

The cameo may have been entertaining, but the batting performance
that preceded it could not have been for Sri Lankan fans, and
India register a big win here at Jo'burg, crushing Sri Lanka by
        183 runs
India were on course to the semi-finals in any case, but this win
definitely puts them there, even as Sri Lanka go down to their
second defeat in a row in the Super Six
They must now pull off a win against Zimbabwe if they are to see
the semi-finals, whereas India just continue to impress, looking
        strong contenders for the title
India's batsmen registered a strong show with the bat first, and
then their bowlers bundled out Sri Lanka for just 109
Sri Lanka's batting could only last 23 overs against Zaheer,
        Srinath and Nehra
The Sri Lankans must really pick themselves up from hereon in if
they are to make it to the knockout stage and progress any further
        past that.
Sanath Jayasuriya may regret his decision at the toss, but he must
now move his team past the two Super Six losses
Javagal Srinath has been named Man of the Match for his haul of
        four wickets for 35 runs
