Australian coaches for Lincoln courses Lynn McConnell - 27 June 2002
New Zealand's leading cricket coaches will have the benefit of the experiences of former Australian internationals Dean Jones and Peter Philpott next week. The pair will be at Lincoln University for the Level III coaches course being organised by New Zealand Cricket's coaching department, and for the annual first-class coaches conference. Philpott, will be at Lincoln all week while Jones will take part in the latter part of the week. Philpott is coming over with a brief to talk about why there is a dearth of spin bowling in the world and what needs to be done to have spin bowling get more recognition. Jones, one of the finest one-day batsmen of all-time will speak to coaches about where one-day cricket is now and where it will be in five years and what do New Zealand coaches have to put in place to make sure they can be up with the changes. Jones will be working specifically with New Zealand's first-class coaches at the course, while Philpott will be working with both groups. © CricInfo
