Indian left-arm fast-medium bowler Zaheer Khan is likely to miss the match against Central Districts starting in Napier on Friday.

Khan badly bruised his knee while attempting to field a ball during India's 21-run loss to New Zealand in a Super Max game in Christchurch tonight.

Khan misjudged the ball and had it lift slightly on him, deflect off his knee and go into the Max zone, where runs scored are doubled.

He left the field immediately and coach John Wright reported after the game that he was quite badly bruised and would probably be rested from the three-day game in Napier.
