Australians and South Africans name umpires for Cup Lynn McConnell - 2 November 2000
Umpiring appointments for the CricInfo Women's World Cup have been completed with the announcement of South African and Australian umpires for the tournament. South Africa's Brian Jerling, who recently stood in his first One-Day International between New Zealand and South Africa at Kimberley, will be in Christchurch. He was recently awarded the South African Cricket Umpires' Association award for the most improved umpire in the summer of 1999-2000. Australia has decided to split its appointment, the result of its hosting of the West Indies for Test matches in November. Simon Taufel will attend from November 29 to December 8 while Peter Parker will stand from December 8-21. It is expected that Taufel, who has stood in several ODIs will be standing in his first Test this summer. © CricInfo
