Ekatahuna and Tawa carry off MILO trophies Lynn McConnell - 14 December 2000
Ekatahuna Primary and Tawa Intermediate Schools are the first winners of the MILO girls' and boys' Trophies after play at Melville Park in Auckland today. In the girls' game for the MILO Shield over 25 overs, Ekatahuna Primary batted first against Rosedale Intermediate of Invercargill and scored 169/3. Wendy Hull scored 65 not out and Kelly Spring 23. They shared a 93-run stand for the second wicket. For Rosedale Joanne Meyer took 2-28. In reply, Rosedale was all out for 73. Kelly Spring took 2-11, Briar Morgan 3-25 and Emma Mitchell 2-1. In the boys' game for the MILO Cup played over 35 overs, Terrace School of Alexandra was all out for 54. Gerard Roche of Tawa Intermediate in Wellington took 3-19. Russell Kyne took 2-17 and Matt Clements took 4-2. Tawa scored 55-4 with Nick Walters 25 not out. © CricInfo
