Unchanged Otago team for Shell Cup

Still to be tried in Shell Cup cricket this year, the Otago Volts will be unchanged for the game with Wellington at Carisbrook on Sunday.

Bad weather in Wanganui on Sunday meant both Otago and Central Districts took a point each from the game.

The side will be: Lee Germon (captain), Mark Billcliff, Martin Croy, Craig Cumming, Simon Forde, Chris Gaffaney, Andrew Hore, Matt Horne, Craig Pryor, Karl O'Dowda, Nathan McCullum, Warren McSkimming.

The future generation of Otago cricketers were named in two sides today.

The Otago under-17 boys' team for the national under-17 tournament in Napier from December 28 to January 5 was selected while in keeping with Otago Cricket's player development policy, an under-17 development side also been named. It will play a number of games against other Otago age-group sides. Several of the development team will be eligible for next year's under-17 team.

The teams named were: Otago under-17 - Henry Bates, Joel Bennett, Stephen Brown, Tim Clydesdale, Brendon Domigan, Will Henry, Hayden King, Scott Simpson, Craig Smith, Mark Somerville, Eric Standfield, Nic Turner. Non-travelling reserve - Brett Paterson. Coach - Mark Bracewell; manager - George Morris.

Otago under-17 development team - Glendon Baird, Tristan Baldey, Ian Cooney, Tim McClean, Ben McCormack, Greg McDowell, Simon Murley, Brett Paterson, Michael Pickworth, James Pyle, Daniel Ramsay, Joel Seddon, Sam Wells.
