English star to play in Otago Lynn McConnell - 15 August 2000
Women's cricket in Otago has received a boost with news that experienced England fast bowler Clare Taylor will stay over after the CricInfo Women's World Cup to play for the Otago Sparks who will be coached by Billy Ibadulla. A double international, having also played soccer for England, she has received the MBE for her services to women's sport. She will also do some coaching at a lower level. Otago's administrators are keen to build on the success achieved by their under-14 and under-17 teams last season. Development of women's cricket continues apace in Dunedin with an intermediate girls' competition starting this year and the senior women's team playing in the Dunedin President's Grade competition. © CricInfo
