Indian Oil Cup, 2005.
Today India take on West Indies in the second match of the
tournament at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
This is Sajan Nair, and i will be you commentator for the day.
Yesterday Sri Lanka clinched a thrilling victory in a low scoring
encounter thanks to a brave effort from Sanath Jayasuriya, not to
mention the valiant efforts of the Sri Lankan lower order.
If the first match was anything to go by we are in for a fantastic
tournament - that's for sure!
India will be under pressure to perform well after yesterday's
defeat.
This is a new look, inexperienced West Indian team, Chanderpaul and
his men will have their work cut out against India.
Weather looks much better today, their is still that stiff breeze
blowing across the stadium but it's lot more sunny today and the
weather forecast is much more promising than yesterday's.
Darrell Harper and Tyron Wijewardene will be in charge of the
proceedings in the middle and Peter Manual is the TV umpire for
today's match.
Chanderpaul has won the toss and elected to bat first !
VVS Laxman is not match fit and India go in with the same team that
played against Sri Lanka.
