Hello and welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the 7th and final
ODI between India and Sri Lanka.
I.P.C.L. Sports Complex Ground, Vadodara will play host to the
final encounter.
It has been a long series and India has been unstoppable - they won
the first four matches in grand style to clinch the series - so
far Sri Lanka have only managed to win, just the one match.
At the moment it's all looking picture perfect for the Indians -
each game they won was driven by a different player and that
coupled with the marked improvement in bowling and fielding makes
it a start of a new era.
Tendulkar is back doing what he does best - playing cricket, Dravid
has not lost his form even after being made captain, Youngsters
have certainly made their mark and in the process justified their
place in the side -
at least for now the future looks great for Indian cricket.
Lankans will be down and out, physically and mentally, but somehow
they will have to regroup and find the energy for a final surge, a
victory here today will give them some momentum to take forward
into the next series.
Now for the important news - Sri Lankan captain Marvan Atapattu has
won the toss and elected to bat first.
Atapattu at the toss said that he would like to finish the series
with a win - Sanath Jayasuriya has been dropped and Murali has
still not recovered from the hamstring injury - Farveez Maharoof
is the SuperSub for today's match.
For India Dravid is back at the helm and that means there is no
place for Gautam Gambhir - life can be cruel at times!
Dravid at the toss said that he would have elected to field first
had he won the toss.
