Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 1.15pm local time (3.15am GMT)

Hello and welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the third final of
        the VB series.
We are down to the last final and it's a must win situation for
both the teams, Australia have a 13-year old record to protect and
the Lankan's are looking for a new beginning -
Honors are even and the stage is well and truly set for the
        ultimate showdown.
The world champions came back splendidly in the second final after
Sri Lanka pulled off a stunning 22 runs victory in the first
        final.
Batting first on a placid track after winning the toss Ponting and
Symonds decimated the Lankan attack and amassed 368 runs in their
        stipulated 50 overs,
Sri Lanka sunk quickly chasing the big total and Australia won the
match by 167 runs making it 1-1 in the best-of-three finals.
Forecast for the day is not that promising, showers are predicted
later in the day but at the moment the Brisbane Cricket Ground is
bathed in sunshine, it is hot and steamy and hopefully it will
        stay that way.
Now for the important news, Sri Lankan captain Atapattu has won the
toss and elected to bat first.
Sri Lanka have made one change, Dilhara Fernando comes in replacing
        Nuwan Kulasekara.
Australia too have made one change, Mick Lewis finds a place in the
playing eleven, Brad Hogg is the SuperSub.
Australia - Adam Gilchrist, Simon Katich, Ricky Ponting, Damien
Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Brett Lee,
Stuart Clark, Mick Lewis, Nathan Bracken.
       Supersub - Brad Hogg
Sri Lanka - Marvan Atapattu, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara,
Mahela Jayawardene, Russell Arnold, Tillekeratne Dilshan, Chamara

        Ruchira Perera.

Marvan Atapattu and Sanath Jayasuriya will open the innings.
