6th ODI: India v England at Jamshedpur, 12 Apr 2006

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 9am local time (3.30am GMT)

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 6th and penultimate
ODI between India and England being played at the Keenan Stadium,
        Jamshedpur.
India lead the series 4-0 with just two more matches to go
including this one, so the series is safely in the bag and now
it's time to test the bench strength.
Rahul Dravid has been rested and in his absence Virender Sehwag
        will lead team-India.
So far England have had a very ordinary series, somehow they need
to regroup and force a win here today and salvage some pride.
Andrew Flintoff will not be featuring in the starting line-up for
England, the news is that he has been rested! and in his absence
Andrew Strauss will be in charge.
Now for the important news, Virender Sehwag has won the toss and
        elected to bat first.
Changes a plenty as far as India are concerned - they have called
in Munaf Patel, RP Singh and VRV Singh - Pathan, Sreesanth and
Agarkar have been rested - so it's a new look bowling attack.
Apart from Flintoff England have left out Gareth Batty, they have
been replaced by Ian Bell and Liam Plunkett.
Surprise, surprise - it's going to be Sehwag and Dhoni to open.
Anderson to start proceeding - here we go!
0.1 Anderson to Sehwag, FOUR, Anderson starts off with a short and wide
delivery outside the off stump and Sehwag drills it through cover
point, off the mark in style!
0.2 Anderson to Sehwag, no run, better line and length, Sehwag leaves
        it through to the keeper
0.3 Anderson to Sehwag, no run, another probing delivery, no shot
        offered
0.4 Anderson to Sehwag, no run, good length delivery outside the off
        stump, forced away towards point
0.5 Anderson to Sehwag, OUT: and Anderson strikes back! good length
delivery, in the channel and shaping away from the right-hander,
Sehwag plays away from his body and the edge is produced, Solanki
at first slip makes no mistake - India one down.

       India 4/1, Partnership of 4
       V Sehwag c Solanki b Anderson 4 (5b 1x4 0x6)
       MS Dhoni 0* (0b) JM Anderson 0.5-0-4-1

The line and length was just perfect on that occasion, Sehwag was
sucked into the shot and the edge carried nicely to Solanki,
Sehwag's bad run continues - England off to a good start here.
Kaif is the next man in.
0.6 Anderson to Kaif, no run, good length delivery, driven to covers -
end of a successful first over.

India folded up for just 223 on a 270 plus track, excellent work by
        the England bowlers.
Anderson stuck in the very first over removing Sehwag and India
were soon reduced to 79 for 5 in just the 16th over, Dhoni and
Powar came up a brilliant 6th wicket partnership which put India
back on the map but once Dhoni was dismissed,
and the partnership broken England were back on top.

       Welcome back.
224 is the target for England and they are in with a really good
chance to register their first win of the series, it's a good
batting track and all they need to do is bat sensibly.
India on the other, well for starters they need early wickets and
somehow the bowlers will have to keep up the pressure through out
        to force a win here.
It's going to be a fascinating battle between bat and ball, stay
with up as we will keep you updated.
