8th Match: England v West Indies at Lord's, 6 Jul 2004

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 10.45am local time (9.45am GMT)

Good morning from Wisden-Cricinfo and Keith as we bring you the
crunch game between England and West Indies at the home of
        cricket, Lords.
With both teams on 10 points, England has to win to stay in
contention for a place in the final while West Indies still have a
        game in hand.
It will be like a cup final", was Michael Vaughan' comments knowing
that it is a must win situation or face elimination from their
        home series.
The toss will be crucial for Vaughan who has never won a game as
captain batting first, but in contrast has never lost batting
        second.
There is no rain predicted for London today so we should be in for
        a good sunny day's cricket.
Jacobs, after his calf injury, has been included by West Indies,
while Lawson (flu) and Rampaul (shin pains) are sidelined.
Devon Smith will play his first international of the tour.
England have brought in Giles for Mahmood
Bad news for England is that West Indies won the toss and have
        asked England to bat
The pitch looks dry, even thin grass covering, best batting pitch
as yet maybe, but will do a bit early on
The sun is out, almost cloudless and ready for another great one-
        day game
Remeber to let us know how we are doing and how much you like our
        service at www.cricinfo.com/commentary.html
