passed a fitness test this morning
Pakistan have made a couple of changes, captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is
out injured and bowler Mohammad Khalil has been dropped to
strengthen the batting

Just the loss off one wicket after winning the toss and batting
this morning.
Salman Butt has been adventurous in his stroke play, even after
being dropped in the first over of the day.
Perhaps more convincing in his pulling than in his driving and
cutting which has seen him get a few edges through slips.
Imran Farhat was much more cautious in his innings, he started to
gain in confidence late in the session before getting out to a
loose shot.
The Australian bowling has been reasonable on a pitch that isn't
offering much.

Two productive partnerships between Salman Butt and Imran Farhat
before lunch and then after lunch between Younis Khan and Yousuf
Youhana really allowed Pakistan to stamp some authority on this
match.
It had been refreshing to see the batsmen go after the Australian
bowlers in this match after the timidity they showed in the first
Test.
Admittedly on conditions that have suited; this MCG pitch has
played rather slow.
The Australians have certainly had their moments though, taking
wickets in batches of three, which has provided a check on the
Pakistani control of the match.
