Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 3pm local time (8am GMT)

Welcome to the dress rehearsal of the final
India take on South Africa in the final league match of this TVS
        Cup
With Bangladesh out of the tournament after a dismal showing this
game gives India and South Africa a chance to test themselves
The conditions here are still good for batting
Although the wicket is a bit slow and might aid spinners, there's
nothing in it for the fast bowlers
It's warm and humid and this wont help the bowlers any
With India beating South Africa handsomely in the earlier match,
South Africa will want to win this game so they go into the final
        with some confidence
India will want to continue their winning streak and go into the
        final with confidence high
Neither team will helped by the fact that the pitch temperature was
as high as 47 degress centigrade a few minutes ago
There is a bit of grass on this wicket, live grass too, but don't
take too much note of that
This is after all a sub-continent wicket, not a Headingley green
        top
India have won the toss and, surprise, surprise, they will bat
Yuvraj Singh is still not fully fit and Bangar plays instead of him
Zaheer Khan's hamstring is getting a bit more rest and Aavishkar
        Salvi gets another game
South Africa have no injury problems are playing the same side that
beat Bangladesh yesterday - Charl Willoughby and Robin Peterson
        are the ones missing out
Play is about to get under way here
Shaun Pollock gets the new ball
Sehwag takes strike, Gambhir keeps him company
0.1 Pollock to Sehwag, no run, just short of a good length and on the
        off, defended
0.2 Pollock to Sehwag, no run, outside the off, left alone
0.3 Pollock to Sehwag, no run, fullish and outside the off, swinging in

        here, defended carefully

0.6 Pollock to Sehwag, no run, just short of a length again and on the
off, keeps a bit low, defended to the off side, end of a typically
tidy, miserly, maiden over from Pollock
