We have rain here and the covers are on, in fact its raining all
over Sri Lanka it seems although its a steady drizzle here.

monsoons but this is an unusual weather pattern according to
experts
There are some complaints about this locale with skipper Atapattu

a dismal effort from the New Zealanders, crumbling to 18/3 very
early on thanks to some determined pace bowling from Nissanka and
poor judgement from the part of the top order
Vincent then steadied the ship in tandem with the belligerent
Cairns, and more assured Oram, taking them back to a fair position
at 94/4 in the 24th over
but it was all downhill from there, the hard work being undone as
the spin troupe came back to wreak havoc on a sharply turning
surface - even the normally quite tame wicket-to-wicket bowling of
Dharmasena started to get real bite at times
Muralitharan cleaned up the lower order with 3-fer, doing it in
customary fashion, and was provided with good support by
Jayasuriya and Dharmasena who kept it very tight
Harris hung around to the very end, but looked a sorry state as he
missed what seemed like dozens of attempted sweep shots, failing
to rotate the strike sufficiently to take the pressure off, ending
up with a painful 20 off 62 balls in what was
unfortunately his first bat in the middle on this tour, and it
showed!
Sri Lanka are left with the paltry target of 140 off 46 overs at a
required run rate of 3.04 per over, and even in these conditions,
that shouldn't prove any serious problem for them, particularly
with the threat of Shane Bond removed from this game

out, they grabbed wicket, pressure mounted but a 17 run over
bowked by Tuffey was their undoing
To be fair there were at least a couple of chancy shots in that
over but Oram was the best NZ bowler
Kaluwitharan played a good anchor and helped get his team withing
reach with a 48
So each team has won once and NZ still lead the points table
because of the run rate with Pakistan also on 6 points and Sri
lanka with five
