Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled to start at 09:30 GMT

       Good Morning!
Hello and welcome to the National Cricket Stadium in Tangier.
Sri Lanka and South Africa fight it out today for the Morocco Cup.
It is another warm and nice day in Tangier.
Sanath Jayasuriya has won the toss and Sri Lanka will bat first.
The team chasing a target has not done all that well in this
tournament so far. Only Sri Lanka chased and won, that too in the
        previous game.
In the third game of this tournament, Sri Lanka beat South Africa
by 93 runs and in the last game they were winners by six wickets.
Well, today is a brand new day - South Africa and Sri Lanka will be
at their best to win the Morocco Cup.
South Africa have left out Kirsten, Adams, Ntini and Ontong from
        their squad.
Sri Lanka have left out Buddhika, Gamage, Dilshan and Hasantha
        Fernando.
The news on the track is that it looks a good one to bat on, and it
could well take some turn later in the day.

Sri Lanka win the match by 27 runs and are the proud and worthy
        winners of the Morocco Cup
They have beaten South africa all three times these two teams met
        in this tournament.
Sanath Jayasuriya won the all-important toss this morning and
        elected to bat.
The skipper played a wonderful innings of run-a-ball 71. He
destroyed the bowling figures of Roger Telemachus.
There were useful contributions from Atapattu (25), Sangakkara (40)
        and de Silva (33)
Sri Lanka finished with 235 off their alloted 50 overs.
South african skipper probably got his numbers wrong, ended up
bowling himself and Donald only eight overs each.
South Africa had a plan for this run chase, they sent Lance
Klusener as an opener to power his way to a big score.
Strangely, with a real hitter of the cricketball as his partner,
Gibbs had a blind dash at a delivery from Vaas and scooped a catch
        to Jayasuriya at mid-off.
Jayasuriya dislocated his shoulder in the process of taking that
        catch.
Marvan Atapattu took over from Jayasuriya as the skipper and kept
        on making the blwoing changes.
The first change, Dilahar Fernando - produced the big wicket, which
really turned the game in Sri Lanka's favour
Zulu missed the slow full toss from Fernando and was hit on the
back leg - to be given out lbw by umpire Taufel.
Umpire Taufel made a big mistake though - not calling the huge no
        ball that was delivered.
Smith made 15 and got out playing a silly shot, dragging the ball
        back onto the stumps
With the wicket keeper standing up to the stumps to Vaas- Smith
should have played more carefully. There was a plan and it worked
        fine for the Sri Lankans
Then in the space of 20 runs, South africa lost their middle order
        - Kallis 24, Rhodes 6 and Boje 3
Boucher and Dippenaar went about repairing the innings. Boucher
playing the sweep shot to gather runs. Dippenaar is indeed a very
good batsman, but a little bit slow for the one-day game
The two batsmen almost looked like stealing the thunder from the
Sri Lankans - adding 101 runs for the 7th wicket
Dippenar was caught brilliantly by Jayawardene at the long off
        fence
Shaun Pollock was run out going for the second run, he was guilty
of not taking the first run quickly - when quick runs were needed.
Telemachus had no clue to a big off break from Muralitharan
And the game ended with Boucher (70 off 65 balls) edging the ball
to Sangakkar, while trying to slog one from Gunaratne
Sri Lanka deserved to win, for they showed better commitment than
        Pakistan and South Africa
Well, the prize ditribution ceremony is under-way
       Lots of thanks-giving going on.
