Good day, and welcome to Wisden CricInfo's live coverage of the
second of seven ODIs between Australia and the West Indies, played
at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica.
Yesterday's game, played on the same pitch as today, proved to be a
taut affair, with the West Indies failing to reach a Duckworth-
Lewis rain-truncated target by just two runs.
What the game did show was that this series could be much closer
than originally thought. Australia may be world champions, but
each game is a new one, and the West Indies were making a spirited
challenge of the target before the rain hit.
West Indian captain Brian Lara won the toss and unlike yesterday
opted to have first strike.
The West Indian team remains unchanged, while Australia bring in
Jason Gillespie and Jimmy Maher for the injured Ian Harvey
(abdominal muscle strain) and Darren Lehmann (thigh strain).

The West Indies never really got away from the Australian bowlers,
and the batting crumbled rapidly - bar one partnership between
Baugh and Banks - to reach only 163.
The target was never going to test Australia at all, and Matthew
Hayden and Ricky Ponting firmly set their side on the road to
victory with a partnership that dominated the West Indian bowlers
completely.
Australia's eight-wicket win gives them a 2-0 lead in this series,
and the next game - at St Lucia on Wednesday, May 21 at 1425 GMT -
will give the West Indies a chance to bounce back.
