4th ODI: India v Zimbabwe at Hyderabad, 16 Mar 2002

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 14.30 local time (9 am GMT)

Welcome to CricInfo.com LIVE text commentary from Hyderabad - this
is the 4th ODI between India & Zimbabwe - The hosts are already
down 1-2 after 3 matches - The Indians have let down many with
        their poor performance
The coach Wright has descrubed the 2nd loss as 'unacceptable'.
Even the selectors have delayed the selection of the team to WI
owing to the team's poor performance
There have been 3 changes to the Indian side - Kumble pulls out due
to injury, Sarandeep Singh and SS Das are out too - Yuvraj Singh,
Murali Kartik and Vijay Bharadwaj comes into the squad
Hyderabad has been witness to quite a few thrilling games - in
1986/87 during Pakistan's tour of India, the 3rd one-dayer at
Hyderabad ended up with both teams level on scores.
Abdul Qadir run out going for the winning run, courtesy a throw
from square leg (if I remember correctly) from the home lad
Azharuddin. India were declared winners having lost fewer
        wickets.
In the 1987 World Cup, Dave Houghton nearly led Zimbabwe to an
improbable victory over New Zealand. Chasing 243, Zimbabwe were
        reduced to 104/7 when
Houghton almost single handedly won the game for Zimbabwe with his
knock of 142. It required a special catch to terminate that knock,
and that is exactly what Martin Crowe did,
running back from mid off (or mid on?) to take a stunning catch
which effectively ended the game, Houghton out on 221/8. Zimbabwe
        lost by 3 runs
More recently New Zealand were the victims of a batting partnership
between Dravid and Tendulkar in 1999. They put on 331 for the 2nd
wicket after Ganguly had been dismissed,
Tendulkar made his highest score of 186* while Dravid was dismissed
for 153 (also his highest ODI score). New Zealand were beaten
        comprehensively, by nearly 170 runs.

One change in the Zimbabwean side - Andy Flower is in and Wishart
        is out
2 changes in the Indian side - Kartik and Yuvraj in for Sarandeep
        and Bangar
0.1 Khan to Campbell, no run, drifting down the leg side as he is
rapped on the pads, optimistic appeal from the bowler, turned
        down, very easily
0.2 Khan to Campbell, wide: no run, outside off stump, swings further
away, called a wide very rightly
0.2 Khan to Campbell, one run, leans well forward and pushes it a bit
airily towards cover point and gets his first run
0.3 Khan to Ebrahim, wide: no run, down the leg side, bad line from
Zaheer, swings very wildly, good acrobatic take by Ratra
0.3 Khan to Ebrahim, no run, just outside off stump, Ebrahim gets a bit
forward and defends it down to the of side
0.4 Khan to Ebrahim, no run, fuller ball, kicks up very well, just
across the right hander, gets his front foot forward and leaves
the ball alone to the keeper
0.5 Khan to Ebrahim, no run, angles it across the right hander, Ebrahim
gets his front foot forward and nudges it, gets a good edge and
the ball flies to first slip, Dravid bends down low in front of
him and takes a good 'catch' just millimetres above the ground,
        but the third
umpire decides that Dravid grassed it and Ebrahim stays
0.6 Khan to Ebrahim, two runs, goes back and taps it behind square leg
        for a well run couple

India level the series here at Hyderabad 2-2 with this magnificient
        win
The final ODI at Guwahati becomes the decider now
The Indians have done really well to level the series, infact at
one stage after losing early wickets, India looked like losing the
        series here today
But the youngsters had other ideas - Kaif's solidity and Yuvraj's
blitzkrieg got the match for India
Yuvraj was ruthless and hammered 80* off just 60 balls with 8 fours
        and one six
