3rd ODI: India v Zimbabwe at Kochi, 13 Mar 2002

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Match start scheduled for 9 am local time (3.30 am GMT)

Good Morning from Kozhi in the green state of Kerala, India
Kozhi is a major port on the Arabian Sea, west-central Kerala
        state, southwestern India
Welcome to LIVE text commentary from CricInfo.com
This is the 3rd ODI between India & Zimbabwe in this 5 match series
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/INXX0032.html - to know about the
        weather in Kozhi!
The series is level at present 1-1
One can say that the Indians have dominated this series so far
They almost won the first match at Faridabad when they picked up 9
wickets, but then they were 'Marillier'ed out of the game
Indians came back strongly and won the day and night encounter at
        Mohali
This match should be an enthralling contest to take the lead in the
        series
One bad news for Zimbabwe is that Andy Flower would be out of this
match due to a hip injury
This would be a major blow to their batting order
This Kozhi ground has hosted 2 ODIs before this and India has won
both the games, one against Australia and one against South Africa
Both those matches have been high scoring games - infact, India
chased a total of more than 300 against South Africa
India defended a score of more than 300 in the first match here
against Australia - that was the match when the batting maestro
excelled with the ball picking 5 wickets for 32 runs
The pitch here today is nothing different from the previous
occasions and we can expect another high scoring game
Not a very good news for the bowlers - a batsman's paradise

Thats the end of the India innings - scoring a paltry 191!
Indians never seemed to post a high score here today
The only thing that went their way this morning was the toss
They started very badly with their skipper limping and not even
        able to take easy singles
Mongia was lost early and no one contributed much except for Kaif's
        56
Mongia, Ganguly, Laxman and Dravid - all four made good
contribution's in the last match , but failed this time and this
had a telling effect on the Indian poor score

Match State: Innings Break

For Zimbabwe Douglas Hondo bowled very well and picked up 4 wicket
        for 37 runs
Mbangwa too did a great job by picking up 1 for 31 off his 10 overs
Marillier and Grant Flower had 2 wickets each
       Can India defend this 191?

Zimbabwe win the match by 6 wickets comfortably
Zimbabwe win this match by 6 wickets and go 2-1 ahead in the 5
        match series
Indians will be under a lot of pressure now and they will have to
win both the remaining games to win this series
Once the Indians made just 191, Zimbabwe always were favourites to
win the match - dismal show by the India batsmen
And they have done it without any panic - Campbell and Flower were
the main pillars of that innings
Campbell made his 3rd successive half century - 71 today and Grant
        Flower made a good 49
The Indians managed to dismiss them both, but the Zimbabweans
reached the target easily even then
The Indian spinners - the 2 singhs were a bit disappointing today -
Only Agarkar was impressive with his 2 for 28 in his 10 overs
